Helping The Community

They will also run two day courses Life Skills and a Digital course, starting in October, from the Edinburgh Street Community Centre on Woodcock Street. The Central classes, run from Jubilee Church on King Edward Street, have day courses including craft, board games & pool, Recovery course and Life Skills with basic cookery. - Savi Farlow (Life College Manager)
Showers & Laundry Facilities
We have seen an increase in people coming to us to use the showers and also to get clothes over the last few weeks. We have had 31 people come to use the showers over the 5 days of this month so far. We are running very low on clothes especially trousers, trainers and coats, and in urgent need for more as the winter draws closer. Due to there being significantly less food provision for the homeless in Hull, we have also seen an increase in people asking for food. - Gemma Bramley (Facilities Manager)
FoodBank
At Hull Foodbank we don’t think anyone in our community should have to face going hungry. That’s why we provide three days’ nutritionally balanced emergency food and support to local people who are referred to us in crisis. In September we've given out 300 parcels per week and supported many of the people visiting us with help from our in house citizens advice advisors. - Russ Barlow (Food Bank Manager)
